Does Dooley gets “it”? Is he re-instilling the hate and venom to the Tennessee -*ama rivalry by slipping Saban a trojan horse with Lance Thompson? Or is he just plain scared to challenge Nick Saban? There has been a suggestion of a lack of courtesy and protocol that Saban didn’t even ask Dooley’s permission to speak or rehire Thompson. Who cares? Dooley wins this one.
I think it is time for Dooley to stop being chums with all these SEC coaches. Or maybe Dooley could verbally whip Vandy’s James Franklin’s ass again. It is really embarrassing.
Either way it’s a genius move to get rid of deadwood Lance Thompson. Thompson (this is all very strongly confirmed rumors), who was not afforded an interview for the Tennessee D-Coordinator position, had stated that if Sal Sunseri was hired he was leaving. Well that boy is gone. I know the boy’s pedigree of recruiter of the year while working for Saban but he never showed it in Knoxville.
Y’all remember in 2009 that Thompson left T-Town under a shit storm back in 2009 (Lance Thompson’s move to Rocky Top was one cloaked in secrecy | al.com).
