Dooley Tells 5 Star QB “Suck It”

GTFO Gunner

How is a 5* QB good enough for LSU but not for UT? The rich have gotten richer. Gunner Kiel, No. 20 in the ESPNU 150 and the No. 2 quarterback, picked LSU Tuesday. Oh well…sigh……I guess there will be a price young Gunner Kiel is going to pay for ignoring Dooley’s emails. That price is no scholarship from Tennessee and no chance to be VFL.   Dooley don’t put up with that this kind of disrespect and shit…

What I understand is that after Kiel de-committed from Indiana he then  put out feelers to the schools that had recruited him earlier in the process.   Tennessee said “nope” and the Vols will stick with 4 star QB Nathan Peterman out of Florida.  Rest assured if Dooley wanted Kiel he would just take him.

Dooley plucked Peterman away from “bell cow” schools like  Western Michigan, FIU, UConn and Wake.  Good get!!

ESPN scouting report on Peterman:

Peterman is a prospect that is much more impressive on tape than he is in a workout setting. He is a gunslinger with a quick release and some real moxie to his methods. Has good size, more than enough arm power and still looks to be filling out with his frame. He can be fundamentally inconsistent, but you like his swagger and style. He is fairly well groomed and we really like his footwork on drops and how he handles himself in the pocket. He always keeps eyes downfield, is balanced, works through his reads and has the quick release to make most any throw. He understands timing and when in rhythm can be a dangerously hot passer. Shows good touch on short-to-intermediate routes. Shows adequate zip on deep out route and enough arm strength to stretch the field vertically when his feet are set. Is a good enough athlete to move around, buy some extra time and re-set to throw, but is not a scrambler. Peterman can be erratic at times with his accuracy. Will take some risks with the ball; it is just his nature. Accuracy wavers depending on footwork. The best thing he does is get rid of the ball quickly. Has a quick-strike stroke and can get into a zone. There is no doubt his best football is ahead of him at the next level as he has a late-bloomers feel to his skill set. Quality prospect with upside for the next level as a BCS/non-BCS level prospect.

About Capers Bar

I am retired Army officer. I used to fly helicopters and airplanes while I was in the Army. Nowadays, I do other things that are not so cool and sexy. I decided to write about my journey or whatever you want to call it towards running a half-marathon this fall. I have been running since 1983, I have run the Duke City full and half marathons. I don't run that fast anymore, I did win a 10K when I was 21, those days are mercifully past me. The fastest mile I have turned is a 5:05 during one of those Army physical fitness test 2 mile runs. The point I am making is that I am old, slow, and experienced runner. I named the blog after my running buddy, Bandit, an Australian Blue Heeler. He is my 3rd K-9 running buddy, the previous two dogs were black labs. I hope to write about some of my discussions that I have with Bandit in the future. I once owned, but since sold and a satirical and irreverent sports blog that was moderately successful. I was published in the left-wing national sports media by Sports Illustrated and ESPN. I am "stuck" in Alabama working for a military contractor. I am working so fricking hard to get back to Southeast New Mexico or West Texas. Fingers and toes crossed.
