Smokey vs Scratch

Do my beloved Vols get to a bowl? Kentucky is a must win.

After a few nagging injuries Tyler Bray is back!!! Did you see how he lit up the potent Vandy defense for a couple of touchdown strikes including a sparkling 34 yarder. Jon Crompton, you were good at the Neyland, but you’re no match for Bray. I smell another first round draft choice here after the Heisman. I wonder if we can convince the NCAA to grant Tyler a medical redshirt? He did miss a few games this season after that cheap shot on his thumb by that thug Georgia player.

The old school running game is back. Kentucky, like Vandy will learn this lesson the hard way. Coach Dooley showed his good buddy James Franklin that our running offense is the most potent in the FBS. After much criticism for being ranked really low in the run game, Coach Dooley showed Vandy we could score as far as 6 yards out when pressed. This stunning revelation came about when Tyler Bray handed the football to the highly underrated Tauren Poole at or around the 8 yard line. 5 seconds later (The total time it took to get back to the line of scrimmage) Poole was brought to the ground by 12 Vandy defenders. The total yardage covered is estimated at 7 yards. Thus proving we can score at will from 5 yards out on any down. Feels Like 98 » The Film Room: Vanderbilt

Try and stop us Kentucky. The Beer Barrel stays in Knoxville for the 27 or 3oth consecutive year. But who is counting?

About Capers Bar

I am retired Army officer. I used to fly helicopters and airplanes while I was in the Army. Nowadays, I do other things that are not so cool and sexy. I decided to write about my journey or whatever you want to call it towards running a half-marathon this fall. I have been running since 1983, I have run the Duke City full and half marathons. I don't run that fast anymore, I did win a 10K when I was 21, those days are mercifully past me. The fastest mile I have turned is a 5:05 during one of those Army physical fitness test 2 mile runs. The point I am making is that I am old, slow, and experienced runner. I named the blog after my running buddy, Bandit, an Australian Blue Heeler. He is my 3rd K-9 running buddy, the previous two dogs were black labs. I hope to write about some of my discussions that I have with Bandit in the future. I once owned, but since sold and a satirical and irreverent sports blog that was moderately successful. I was published in the left-wing national sports media by Sports Illustrated and ESPN. I am "stuck" in Alabama working for a military contractor. I am working so fricking hard to get back to Southeast New Mexico or West Texas. Fingers and toes crossed.
