Since Mike Hamilton “quit” as the Athletic Director for the University of Tennessee , many of the talking heads in the liberal drive-by media and message board heroes have questioned Coach Phil Fulmer‘s ability to exhibit the leadership qualities necessary to lead Tennessee Athletics back to national prominence.
Fulmer won’t be overlooked once again by the drive-by-media. The undeniable truth is that in a world where coaches are judged by kangaroo courts, Fulmer will always be at a disadvantage because of his non-confrontational demeanor and unsavory personal appearance.
Coach Fulmer was dealt a bad hand and he has responded to the best of his ability with humbleness and selfless behavior. President Cheek had it pegged when he likened Fulmer to our immortal coach General Robert Neyland. Let’s not lose sight of our goal, a return to glory by 2016, which I feel is not an unreasonable goal.
